With Halloween just around the corner, I thought it would be fun to share a simple DIY table setting décor for your Halloween Night. If you are having guests over, or even for the month of October – this could make for a fun addition to your table setting. Below you will find a step by step guide on how to create your own bat table setting, which should look like this:

Ok let’s get started.

What will you need? A square napkin of any kind. It can be a paper one or fabric, as this is a DIY it’s completely up to you and depends on how you’d like your table setting to look like. In this DIY I used a black, fabric napkin.

Step 1: Lay it flat on a hard, smooth surface, like a table.

Step 2: Fold it in a half diagonally.

i.e. Take the bottom right hand corner and touch it with top left hand corner, creating a triangle. It should look like below:

Step 3: Fold it diagonally once more.

i.e. Bottom left hand corner touching with top right hand corner, creating even smaller triangle, which should look like this:

Step 4: Fold the bottom of the triangle upwards, so that the tip of the triangle folds over the top half. It will act as the bats head. It should look like this:

Step 5 & 6: This last one is tricky!

Both steps are the same, one on each side, to create the wings.

Step 5: Take the right hand corner and fold inward (in a half, to the left), keeping the corner itself above the top line, making sure it “sticks” out further than the middle triangle.

Step 6: Take the left hand corner and fold inward (in a half, to the right), keeping the corner itself above the top line, making sure it “sticks” out further than the middle triangle.

Essentially, you are creating bats wings, which are longer than his head. It should look like this:

And there you have it! Spooky Halloween Bat Table Setting to wow your guests. You can style it in many ways and this is a great, budget friendly project you can do with your kids.
